Operational Lived Experience Leadership Role

The position of Operational Lived Experience Lead is designed to provide operational leadership across the organization, focusing on the implementation of a lived experience strategy. This role will involve working collaboratively with various teams to ensure that the principles of lived experience participation, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in all aspects of the organization's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and management of Consumer Peer Practice leads
  • Drive change by designing and delivering policies and programs that prioritize lived experience
  • Evaluate and improve workforce capability, governance arrangements, and leadership activities to align with principles of lived experience participation, diversity, and inclusion
  • Foster a culture of self-advocacy, resilience, and collaboration among employees and stakeholders
  • Stay updated on relevant contemporary knowledge and engage with participants, clinicians, and the community to promote understanding of the consumer perspective and challenge ineffective service delivery approaches

Requirements:

  • Personal experience of mental health challenges or psychological distress
  • Minimum Certificate IV in peer support or equivalent lived experience and demonstrated recovery experience, along with work history in a designated lived experience role
  • Ability to drive change through policy design and program delivery that embeds lived experience
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and Advanced Training (or willingness to complete)
  • Current valid Driver's License and ability to undertake regular travel
  • Current Police Records Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Right to Work within Australia
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
