Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting physical tests and handling coal samples in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures
  • Preparing, sizing, crushing, dividing, and storing coal samples according to instructions and best methods
  • Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams
  • Performing range of physical tests, including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing, and storage
  • Transferring validated results into the reporting system
  • Calibrating and maintaining specialized equipment
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to organize work, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting
  • Competent within a strong safety culture
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems
  • Previous coal sampling experience is an advantage but not essential
  • Flexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as required
