About ALS Coal

The Position
ALS Coal currently has opportunities available for a Casual
Coal Quality
Technicians, Physical Laboratory Testing (PTL)
based at our site in Mayfield, NSW.
The position will require some weekend work as well as shift work (day, afternoon, night). If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you.
The position requirements include but are not limited to:
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner
Handling coal samples and processing them according to instructions & current best methods.
Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.
A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.
Transfer validated results into the reporting system
Calibration and maintenance of specialised equipment.
Requirements:
A valid driver's license
A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently without supervision
Comfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting
Competent within a strong safety culture
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems
Previous coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essential
Flexible and be able to perform shift work and weekend work as required
NOTE: Full training will be provided to successful applicants
Eligibility
To be eligible to work at ALS you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.
As part of the selection process, pre-employment medical exam is required, including drug and alcohol assessment.
