
Waste Manager

Drive environmental excellence in our Sort Center in Western Australia. As a Waste Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of waste. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for waste minimization.
Key Responsibilities:- Waste Characterization: Develop expertise in classifying, storing, segregating, labeling, documenting, and preparing waste for shipment according to local state waste regulatory requirements.
- Physical Maintenance: Maintain waste storage areas and safety equipment in accordance with Australian regulatory requirements and Amazon network policies.
- Waste Reporting: Utilize digital waste reporting tools to log and containerize regulated and hazardous wastes.
- Vendor Management: Arrange waste collection, schedule pick-ups, and follow up on paperwork with waste vendors.
- Documentation: Upload documents to shared folders and digital waste reporting tools.
- Environmental Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections, raise findings, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve effective environmental management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with WHS, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, Vendor Returns, and Facilities teams to manage hazardous chemicals and waste generation.
- Inventory Management: Prepare monthly waste inventory reports and identify shipping frequency to comply with accumulation requirements.
- High school or equivalent education
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with managers and associates
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to lift up to 25Kg, stand/walk during shifts, and push/pull/squat/bend/reach
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Science or Science
- Ability to analyze data to identify opportunities for waste minimization
- Experience working in fulfillment/distribution centers
- Knowledge of waste classification, segregation, and state-based waste regulatory requirements
