Accounts Payable Officer Role

This role is responsible for the timely processing of creditor, agent, and subcontractor invoices. You will report directly to the Shipping Financial Controller, managing responsibilities across accounts payable from purchase orders to pay runs and supplier queries.

  • You will manage and sort mail, ensuring invoices are authorised and matched to supporting documentation
  • Raise and code Purchase Orders as required
  • Code invoices to general ledger accounts and prepare month-end supplier account reconciliations
  • Process and reconcile invoices for periodic payment runs
  • Coordinate the credit card function, including processing periodic journals and reconciliations
  • Resolve supplier queries, investigating outstanding invoices
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate supplier records
  • Provide support to Accountants, Payroll, and Management as required
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions
  • Strong administrative and clerical skills, including Microsoft Excel experience
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
