At St Andrew's Hospital, we're seeking a dedicated and passionate student nurse to join our dynamic Orthopaedic Team as an Orthopaedic Nursing Assistant.

About the Role

We are currently looking for a student nurse to work in a casual capacity in our Orthopaedic Unit. As an Orthopaedic Nursing Assistant, you will undertake patient care activities in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures, under the direction and supervision of the Registered General Nurse:

  • Assists the Registered General Nurse with patient admission and discharge planning.
  • Maintains the patient's comfort, dignity, and personal privacy.
  • Attends to the patient's activities of daily living and encourages progressive responsibility for self-care where appropriate.
  • Encourages the patient to be actively engaged in their plan of care and the clinical handover process.
  • Observes the patient at all times and monitors their condition. Immediately reports clinical changes or concerns to a registered nurse, and completes documentation as required.
  • Seeks, and participates in, educational and practical learning opportunities.
About You

You must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing program, have completed all first-year subjects, including a medication authorization module/assessment where possible, and possess a satisfactory and current Working with Children Check.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is AU$60,000 - AU$80,000 per annum, based on industry standards for a nursing assistant in Australia. We also offer a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
