Job Overview


The Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an experienced orthopaedic clinical and academic leader to join our dynamic team at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. This exciting opportunity will allow you to develop your skills in both clinical practice and research, working closely with senior consultants and resident medical officers.



Salary:

We offer a competitive salary package of $89,253 - $144,291 per annum, plus superannuation and salary sacrifice benefits.



About the Role

As an Orthopaedic Clinical and Academic Fellow, you will have the unique opportunity to engage in both clinical practice and academic development within a fast-paced orthopaedic department. Your responsibilities will include providing high-quality clinical care to patients, participating in quality assurance initiatives, and preparing reports to maintain high standards of care.


You will also play a key role in mentoring resident medical officers and interns, fostering the next generation of medical professionals. Additionally, you will contribute to ongoing research initiatives, including designing and leading research projects to advance orthopaedic care in upper limb surgery.


This role provides a chance to enhance your skills in both clinical and academic settings, while working alongside highly skilled consultants in a supportive environment.



Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:



  • Essential qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, AHPRA registration, completion of specialist orthopaedic training, and advanced fracture management courses.
  • Leadership and supervision experience, with strong problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent clinical skills appropriate for orthopaedic duties, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • A proven track record in research with peer-reviewed publications, and a solid understanding of hospital structures, policies, and health and safety principles.
