Job Overview

This casual opportunity is ideal for student nurses in their 2nd and 3rd year of study, seeking to gain invaluable experience in a renowned Orthopaedic Unit.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive salary package including superannuation, paid annual leave, and professional development opportunities.

About the Role

As an Orthopaedic Nurse Trainee, you will work under the supervision of a Registered General Nurse, undertaking patient care activities in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with patient admission and discharge planning
  • Maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and personal privacy
  • Attending to patients' activities of daily living and encouraging self-care where appropriate
  • Observing patients at all times and monitoring their condition
  • Reporting clinical changes or concerns to registered nurses and completing documentation as required

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing program, have completed all first-year subjects, including a medication authorization module/assessment where possible, and possess a satisfactory and current Working with Children Check.
