**Culturally Sensitive Support Role**

The Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer plays a pivotal part in supporting Aboriginal patients, families, and carers through cultural support, advocacy, liaison, and discharge planning. This role ensures patients in contact with the hospital have access to relevant services internal to Austin and externally, such as General Practitioners, community health services, mainstream healthcare, and Aboriginal organisations.

The officer works closely with the Ngarra Jarra Aboriginal Health Unit team to develop and deliver culturally sensitive policies, practices, and training across the hospital network. In this senior role, you will take a lead role in building collaborative working relationships with the community and Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, quality improvement activities, hospital accreditation activity, policy and practice development, and continuous service monitoring.

To be successful in this role, you will require relevant experience in a similar or related field, as well as a relevant qualification or training in healthcare or a related area.
