Indigenous Health Specialist

Deliver culturally sensitive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.


This is a key position that requires empathy, understanding, and strong communication skills to build trust and rapport with clients and their families.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, person-centered care that addresses the unique needs of Indigenous youth and their communities.
  • Monitor, report, and document client progress, ensuring a smooth and seamless recovery-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with families, stakeholders, and healthcare professionals to ensure holistic, multi-disciplinary care.
  • Maintain accurate records and implement administrative procedures to optimize efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in Indigenous health, community development, or social work, with a lived experience highly valued. They will also be able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.


Strong knowledge of the physical, social, and cultural needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is essential, as is a Certificate III or above in Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
