Senior Commercial Analyst - Financial Insights Leader
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our team at REA Group. As a key business partner, you will provide analysis and insights to maximize commercial outcomes.
Drive Accurate Budgets: Deliver accurate budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans incorporating financial and non-financial metrics aligned to the company's strategy.Analyze Business Drivers: Detailed analysis of business drivers and competitor performance to identify insights and trends. Present findings and recommendations to leadership.Month-End Revenue Close: Own month-end revenue close and results.Forecast Revenue Model: Own, maintain, and build the forecast revenue model.Trail Book Valuation: Manage, coordinate, and own the valuation of the Trail Book, working closely with the FS data team.Financial Modelling: Lead the financial modelling for new initiatives and partnerships – work with the business to deliver financially viable strategies on new business models.Commercial Analysis: Collaborate, coach, and support the Financial Services Commercial Analyst across expense close, forecasting, opex/capex analysis, and reporting.Data Interpretation: Handle and interpret large datasets and work with the Financial Services data team to uncover insights that support decision-making.Process Improvement: Respond to and actively seek out opportunities to improve current processes, systems, and tools.Financial Discipline: Strong financial control discipline, ensuring relevant SOX compliance requirements are met.Stakeholder Partnership: Proactively partner with and influence key stakeholders.Reporting and Analysis: Drive improvements in reporting/analysis for management teams, executive leadership, and Board-level reporting.Mortgage Industry Trends: Keep abreast with mortgage industry and market trends, proactively identify and manage internal and external financial risks and opportunities with the business.
The ideal candidate would have skills in the following areas:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualified.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- 8+ years experience working in a commercially focused/business partnering capacity with prior Big 4 experience.
- Financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting experience, including advanced modelling such as DCF valuations.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong initiative, willingness to take ownership, and a team player.
- High attention to detail with tenacity to problem solve.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfortable working with data to surface insights.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and ability to manage a diverse stakeholder group.
