Accounts Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team.

Panthers Group is a leading entertainment and leisure provider with a strong commitment to community and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will possess strong financial skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

The following are some of the key responsibilities of this role:

  • Attend and support Finance Team events as required;
  • Process accounts and incoming/outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures;
  • Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording Bank Transactions;
  • Reconcile Bank Accounts for Multiple entities and ledgers;
  • Balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Process Banking statements into the General Ledger;
  • Prepare cash flow documentation;
  • Credit card reconciliations and processing;
  • Process daily sales loads into the financial system in a timely manner;
  • Support the AR/AP team, including preparation of payments;
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits;
  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to facilitate month-end and year-end close;
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register;
  • Process other Transactional Data as required;
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as required;

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in a similar role;
  • A Certificate 4 or Diploma in Accounting, or a completed accounting qualification with a view to completing while working;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Intermediate computer skills and thorough administration practices;
  • Experience with MYOB accounting software or equivalent;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
