Job Description

This role involves delivering social work services to achieve optimal health outcomes, including psycho-social assessments and therapeutic counselling. The position will involve case coordination, individual and family counselling/therapy, group work, facilitating referrals to partner services, collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, and contribution to service development, evaluation, and staff education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing supports that help foster healthy and secure relationships and improve overall family functioning. This may involve working with children and their families to address a range of issues, including mental health, substance abuse, and relationship problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or AASW Overseas Assessment number for overseas qualifications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the Social Worker Level 1/2 - Child and Family Health position.
  • Strong interest in advancing therapeutic counselling skills, collaboration with parents and families, and experience with brief or longer-term interventions and group work.
  • Understanding of psycho-social and attachment issues relevant to child development.
