Counsellor for Families and Children
Description:This role is an integral part of our organisation's Pathways to Grow Program. We are seeking a Counsellor who will provide integrated counselling services to families with children under 18 years, including unborn children, who find themselves in vulnerable situations and do not require statutory intervention.
The primary objective of this position is to improve the wellbeing and safety of children, young people, and their families. This will be achieved by building the capacity of families to nurture, care for, and protect their children. The Counsellor will also provide linkages to local universal support services/community groups to enable families to access resources that build their capacity to solve problems and make positive changes.
Key Responsibilities:- To assess and address the needs of clients through comprehensive case management and therapeutic interventions
- To develop and implement individualised plans to support clients' goals and objectives
- To establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Counsellor who possesses:
- A degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or Behavioural Science from a recognised tertiary institution
- Demonstrated skills and sound knowledge gained through substantial experience in a similar role
- A current Driver's Licence
- A Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
