About This Opportunity

Our forward-thinking organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement and Contracts professional to join our team in the Hunter Region (NSW). As a full-time position, this role offers a great opportunity for career growth and contributing to local government services and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Council policies and legislative requirements.
  • Implement procurement training and provide guidance to staff on planning, sourcing, and managing contracts.
  • Coordinate Tendering activities and ensure that all tender processes are compliant with Council policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the WHS Advisor and other Council staff to ensure contractors engaged by Council are compliant with Council policy and procedures.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate procurement risks.
  • Provide detailed procurement reports to support Council decision-making.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification relevant to the responsibilities of the position or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • A current NSW driver's licence.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, procurement, and/or contract management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrated high ethical standards.
