Job Title: Data Manager

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and motivated professionals to manage data across Defence programs in Brisbane or Canberra.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of integrated solutions, ensuring data is effectively managed, governed, and leveraged to support performance, compliance, and decision-making.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective data management frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with Defence standards.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and traceability across technical, engineering, and logistics domains.
  • Manage structured and unstructured data throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise data governance and utilisation.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of secure, accessible data repositories.
  • Contribute to the development of Data Management Plans (DMPs) and ensure alignment with project milestones.
  • Engage with Defence stakeholders to uphold consistency and quality of data and documentation.

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in data management within Defence or a highly regulated technical environment.
  • Sound understanding of Defence data standards and artefacts.
  • Proficient in data governance, lifecycle management, and configuration control.
  • Experience using document and data management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and written communication abilities.
  • Australian Citizenship is required to meet security clearance requirements.
  • NV1 security clearance (or eligibility to obtain) is highly desirable.
