Mental Health Support Specialist

Improve lives with a refreshing approach to mental health support, empowering individuals with practical skills for thriving today and in the future.

This role involves providing confidential, one-on-one sessions tailored to help clients address stress from work, school, relationships, or other life challenges.

A supportive service is offered for people aged 12 and above, in person, tele-health and via outreach, provided free of charge.

The Mental Health Support Specialist will require empathy and support in approaches to client care. The ideal candidate will be collaborative and able to work autonomously, bringing experience in:

  • Creating awareness of the program in the local community and generating referrals
  • Facilitating intake, assessment, treatment sessions and post evaluation
  • Linking clients with appropriate services, including developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Communicating and liaising with diverse backgrounds, including CALD, LGBTIQ+, and Indigenous communities

A degree level qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Health, or related field is required. New graduates are welcome.

The successful applicant will receive comprehensive training and induction, regular clinical supervision, case conferencing, debriefings, use of a shared vehicle during working hours, and extra paid leave days per year to support wellbeing and work-life balance.
