Job Role

We are seeking a highly skilled senior engineer to manage utility relocation designs with civil and structural designs to resolve clashes and design relocations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the management of utility relocation designs to resolve clashes and optimize design outcomes;
  • Coordinating 3D modeling, clash detection, and utility design in appropriate software (e.g. Civil 3D, Navisworks etc);
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of the overall project deliverables;
  • Providing technical guidance and leadership to project team members;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant authority requirements, standards, and specifications for the design scope of works;
  • Liaising with authorities to manage approvals and facilitate project progression;
  • Managing sub-consultants/specialist utility designers and coordinating their outputs;
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance with project components, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies; and
  • Guiding the technical development of junior engineers in the utilities discipline area.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualified engineer with extensive experience in utilities design and management;
  • Relevant engineering degree and Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation;
  • Experience designing Sydney Water infrastructure and Water Servicing Coordinator (WSC) accreditation advantageous;
  • Post-graduate experience, including supervising aspects of a project and applying technical knowledge;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing utility approval processes for major utility relocation and protection designs on infrastructure projects;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally;
  • Experience working in multi-discipline design and/or project teams.
