About the Role:The position requires a high level of expertise in acute dietetics, particularly for complex surgical, medical patients and critical care patients. This role will involve working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality dietetic services.
Key Responsibilities:- To work as part of a team to provide dietetic services to patients
- To assess patients' nutritional needs and develop individualized plans
- To educate patients and their families about nutrition and healthy eating
- To work with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care
- A minimum of 3 years clinical experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in acute adult nutrition (critical care, complex surgical and medical patients)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide staff/community education
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Competent computer skills, particularly in word processing and Internet use
- Understanding of the cultural diversity of the community
