The Australian Energy Regulator seeks a senior energy leader to drive strategic decision making and navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to shape the future of Australia's energy sector, ensuring a secure, reliable and affordable energy supply.
About the Role- Provide strategic leadership and direction, including supporting the development of and execution of the AER's Strategic Plan and Corporate Plan.
- Develop and manage the AER's annual budget, ensuring activities are conducted within approved parameters and aligned with strategic priorities.
- Lead and empower the senior leadership team, assigning responsibilities clearly, supervising performance and fostering a high-performing culture.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to achieve the AER's objectives, ensuring alignment with the organisation's purpose and values.
- Budget Management: Manage the AER's annual budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and achievement of organisational goals.
- Culture Development: Foster a high-performing culture within the organisation, promoting innovation, excellence and ethical behaviour.
- Executive-level management experience in a dynamic, complex public or private sector environment.
- Understanding of government operations and regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of Australian energy markets and the role of the AER.
- Achieve a meaningful impact on the lives of consumers and the future of energy in Australia.
- Contribute to shaping the AER into a recognised, high-performing regulator.
