About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Media Communications to lead our Media Branch and drive our strategic communications efforts.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, government agencies, and community groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective media strategies to promote the NDIA's policies and programs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, government agencies, and community groups
  • Provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders and other stakeholders
  • Manage and coordinate media operations, including media releases, media advisories, and other communications materials
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the media landscape and identify opportunities for the NDIA to engage with key audiences
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in media communications, including media relations, public affairs, and strategic communications
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex communications challenges
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
