Key Senior Finance Role

This pivotal leadership position plays a vital role in the financial sustainability of an organisation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting aligned with strategic objectives
  • Prepare comprehensive budgets for overall organisational management
  • Support team leaders in annual budget management
  • Oversee financial operations including payroll, procurement, and compliance
  • Coordinate diverse income streams from grants, commercial activities, and service delivery
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and reporting obligations are met
  • Provide strategic financial advice to executive leaders
  • Present financial reports at key meetings
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Promote culturally safe financial practices throughout the organisation

Requirements include:
A professional financial leader with strong cultural respect, integrity, and confidentiality.
You bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in senior financial leadership roles, ideally in not-for-profit or government-funded organisations
  • Proven experience in managing complex budgets, financial compliance and risk management
  • Experience working with diverse communities or organisations (highly desirable)
  • Strategic financial planning and analytical expertise
  • Proficiency in MYOB, Xero, Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills underpinning ability to present financial data to various audiences
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
  • Commitment to ethical financial stewardship and community accountability
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CA/CPA or equivalent (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a recent National Police Clearance and undertake a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screening
