Medium Term Planning Role

The successful candidate will consistently display key behaviours in everyday practice, fostering a collaborative work environment and promoting core values.

About the Position
  • You will support the production of long-term operational plans, including schedules and financials;
  • Contribute to reserves and schedules for strategic planning processes;
  • Evaluate mine planning options to enhance operational efficiency;
  • Maintain an inventory of medium-term designs, out to 18 months;
  • Liaise and engage with operational, projects and engineering teams to ensure delivery of the plan;
  • Coach and mentor other team members, including graduates;
  • Monitor compliance to legislative requirements and site standards; and
  • Apply a continuous improvement methodology to all tasks.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related field;
  • Experience in large-scale mining operations, preferably in coal;
  • Proficiency in CAD design software packages such as Deswik, Minex or Vulcan;
  • An eye for detail and ability to develop practical and achievable mine designs and schedules;
  • Strong communication and time management skills coupled with problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders across the organisation;
  • Leadership, mentoring and coaching skills;
  • Advanced MS Office Skills.
