About the Role

The VFX Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the creative aspects of high-end visual effects production across multiple projects. This includes providing creative direction, managing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual effects within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with production teams to set delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality visual effects on time and on budget.
  • Prototype and roll out visual effects in line with financial and creative parameters.
  • Review all work for internal and external delivery, ensuring it meets creative and technical standards.
  • Set discipline and quality standards by leading by example and providing regular feedback to team members.
  • Ensure team leads are effectively managing their teams, providing guidance to resolve issues in real-time.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced team members.
  • Promote a collaborative and enjoyable work environment, fostering positive discussion and a strong work ethic.
  • Work with the sales team to assist with visual effects breakdowns, budgets, and shot methodologies as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of supervisory or leadership experience in creating high-end visual effects for TV commercials.
  • Extensive production experience with Shotgun.
  • Expert knowledge of and experience in dealing with a wide range of visual effects techniques.
  • Understanding of photography, film-making, lighting, design, and animation timing and storytelling.
  • Practical understanding of the entire production pipeline process.
  • Multi-disciplinary understanding derived from working within Effects, Lighting, Compositing, and Asset Teams.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a deadline-focused work environment.
  • Expert people management and leadership skills.
  • Technical and creative problem-solving skills with a can-do mindset.
  • Expert time management and prioritization skills.
  • Sharpened tactical and creative problem-solving sensibilities with a can-do mindset.
