Community Safety Coordinator

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has an opportunity for a proactive and people-focused professional to lead the operations of the School Crossing Supervisor program across Queensland.
This role involves managing HR processes, supporting road safety initiatives, and collaborating with internal teams, government agencies, and community groups to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the management of the School Crossing Supervisor scheme operations across geographically diverse locations, administering related human resource processes including recruitment and selection, onboarding, payroll functions, and staff performance.
- Support the implementation of road safety programs within the Road Safety unit and work effectively as a team member and contribute to team objectives.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues and representatives of other government agencies and community groups to achieve safe and efficient outcomes for school communities.
- Demonstrate ability to assess situations through multiple perspectives and provide reasonable solutions.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven time management and organisational skills, adapting to changing priorities and delivering outputs.
- Demonstrate adaptability to fast-paced environments and promote respect, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace.
- Deliver engaging community workshops and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- A current C or CA class driver license is required.
- A Working with children check (Blue Card) is mandatory upon commencement and throughout employment.
- A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.
