Job Title: Strategic Human Resources Advisor

Job Description:

  • The Strategic Human Resources Advisor plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality human resource advice, services, and solutions across the Department.
  • This role ensures compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legislation while supporting a positive workplace culture.
  • The successful candidate will lead State-wide Recruitment for Correctional Officers (CO) and Correctional Industry Officers (CIO).

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely, accurate HR advice across workforce management functions.
  • Ensuring HR practices comply with policies, legislation, enterprise agreements.
  • Developing, reviewing, implementing HR policies, procedures, systems.
  • Analysing HR trends, preparing reports, providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across business units.
  • Participating in recruitment and selection for corporate roles.

State-wide Recruitment:

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment for CO and CIO positions.
  • Developing and implementing candidate attraction strategies.
  • Preparing employment contracts, maintaining recruitment databases.
  • Representing the Department at employment expos, information sessions.
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies to expand candidate reach.
  • Providing data-driven reporting on recruitment outcomes.

Requirements include:

  • Proven experience in recruitment, HR advisory roles within public sector or similar complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, legislation, enterprise agreements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills to build maintain positive working relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to prepare clear reports briefings.
  • High-level organisational skills, managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in HR documentation reporting.
