Work Health and Safety Specialist

Developing and implementing a comprehensive work health and safety management system is crucial in maintaining a healthy work environment. This involves aligning strategies with legislation and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective WHS policies, procedures, and risk management strategies
- Support compliance through regular inspections, audits, and incident reporting
- Prepare performance metrics and incident summaries for senior management
- Assist with training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives
- Contribute to investigations into workplace incidents and assist in corrective actions
- Engage with leaders and executives on WHS matters
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and codes, preferably with relevant qualifications or working towards them
- Practical experience in workplace health and safety, ideally in system management, audits, or investigations
- Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organisation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
