Warehouse Assistant Job Description

The primary focus of this role is to oversee the efficient management and operation of the warehouse facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock levels, coordinating freight and logistics operations, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Picking, packing, and preparation of products for dispatch
  • Checking and inspecting goods received, then organizing stock within the warehouse
  • Loading and unloading vehicles that come to the warehouse
  • Coordination with transport companies
  • Assembling and testing hire/commercial machines and components based on specifications prior to delivery to customers/stores
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing equipment accordingly
  • Adhering to company Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines at all times
  • Using electrical, mechanical, and air tools correctly and safely
  • Checking, maintaining, and ordering spare parts

Requirements:

  • Stock control experience
  • Good maintenance ability to repair equipment
  • Experience in coordinating at all levels of freight and logistics operations
  • Thorough understanding of OHS
  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent people management and customer focus with a can-do attitude at all times
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Proficiency in MS Office and freight software
  • Full Australian driving license essential
  • Forklift license

  • Part-time hours: 22.8 per week
  • Salary: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
  • Day shift
