The Role:

As a seasoned leader, you will help guide our Australian practice, collaborating with US and EMEA teams. Your expertise in Corporate Commercial, Cyber & Data Privacy, IP, or Financing will be invaluable as you drive business development through your network and engagement in the startup community.

  1. Lead our Australian practice, fostering collaboration between teams and driving strategic growth.
  2. Develop and implement business strategies to capitalize on emerging technologies like AI.
  3. Provide innovative solutions to client challenges, leveraging your expertise to drive growth in technology law.
  4. Deliver high-quality legal work that sets us apart from competitors.
  5. Build and maintain key client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and expert in your field.
  6. Support tech innovators in achieving their goals, offering pragmatic and actionable advice.
  7. Engage in complex problem-solving to produce meaningful results, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  8. Establish and maintain internal and external relationships, promoting a strong professional network.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 10+ years PQE as a qualified lawyer.
  • Deep expertise in areas like Corporate Commercial, Cyber & Data Privacy, IP, or Financing, with a generalist approach.
  • Preferred qualifications include dual jurisdiction, experience in top-tier or boutique firms, and in-house roles, plus a strong professional network.
  • Critical thinking, curiosity, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to understand and incorporate emerging technologies like AI into legal practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with startup founders and C-suite executives.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with pragmatic solutions.
  • Self-motivation, independence, and ownership of results.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
