The role of Assistant Director, Operations involves working across the Eastern Group which encompasses spectacular landscape, beautiful scenery and vibrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures from far north Queensland to New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

Key responsibilities include overseeing a team providing specialist advisory and support services to the Eastern Group Manager, Operations and Delivery division and the agency more broadly. The position works with considerable independence and under broad direction of the Director.

This role is closely tied to Priority Reforms under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap and includes leading a small team, developing and maintaining complex internal and external relationships, managing secretariat responsibilities for interagency meetings, and facilitating the development and implementation of complex and specialist projects.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
