Experienced Marine Engineer Wanted for Vessel Operations

We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join our team in a challenging and rewarding role. As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company vessels.

The primary function of this role is the technical oversight and maintenance of all main and auxiliary machinery, including air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical systems, as well as the servicing and maintenance of firefighting equipment, engine rooms, and machinery spaces.

You will work closely with the on-ground Maintenance Manager in the day-to-day maintenance requirements, the Master in ensuring all technical requirements are met, and the Operations Manager for ensuring services, supplies, and work requirements are met.

As a leader of a team, you will be required to possess high standards of interpersonal and organisational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform autonomously and delegate tasks effectively.

Key skills that are essential to this role include:

  • Minimum MED2 qualification plus seatime;
  • Senior First Aid qualification;
  • Current Driver's Licence;
  • Shipboard Safety Certificate;
  • Experience with Scania and/or Caterpillar Marine Engines (highly desirable);
  • An understanding of diesel engines, electrics, and plumbing systems;
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems and WH&S Regulations.
