The Stomal Therapy position at NSW Health is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive education and emotional support to stoma patients throughout their treatment journey
  • Collaborating effectively with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve patient satisfaction and well-being
  • Communicating clearly and empathetically with clients, carers, and diverse range of healthcare providers

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Division 1 Registered Nurse
  • Post-registration qualifications in Stoma Therapy or related field
  • At least 3 years full-time equivalent experience working in Gastrointestinal Surgery and/or Stoma Therapy
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team
