Role Summary:

The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Stomal Therapy involves providing education and guidance to stoma patients from pre-operative assessment through post-operative management, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

  • This position supports stomal therapy services by working closely with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to provide education and guidance to stoma patients, supporting the patient journey from pre-operative assessment into post-operation management.
  • As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes and contribute to shaping the way care is delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including education and guidance on stomal therapy management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carers, and diverse range of healthcare providers.
  • Lead and champion change initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with AHPRA - Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Post-registration Qualifications in Stoma Therapy.
  • At least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in Gastrointestinal Surgery and/or Stoma Therapy.
  • Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patients' outcomes as part of a team.
