Operations Manager Role

The ideal candidate will drive business performance, safety leadership and growth across our quarry operations. Reporting to the General Manager Quarries, this role supports our people, assets and customers while ensuring sustainable outcomes.

This position involves driving a Zero Harm culture across multiple quarries, including Macksville, Talbragar, Terramungamine, Beryl, Byrock, Teven, Johns River, Orange, Currabubula and Grafton. It ensures Boral Quarry Operations meet all safety, environmental and legislative requirements.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Supporting the General Manager Quarries with operational, financial and performance outcomes.
  • Developing and delivering quarry development plans for long-term sustainability.
  • Leading key improvement projects to drive consistency and operational excellence.
  • Overseeing quarrying assets and capital investment planning in collaboration with the Asset Manager.
  • Providing support and expertise to Quarry Managers and Supervisors to optimise performance.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, community groups, government and industry associations.
  • Promoting a culture of Zero Harm, continuous improvement, OEE and Operational Excellence practices.
  • Driving business development strategies to improve product quality, reduce costs and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Leading people processes including succession planning, mentoring and performance reviews.
  • Ensuring environmental compliance and safety remain front of mind across all operations.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, management, engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in Quarry Management and/or Operations.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and influence.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Demonstrates commercial and business acumen to support market growth.
  • Demonstrated success in driving operational improvements and achieving results.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively to multiple quarry sites.
