Job Title

Technology Application Operations Manager

The Technology Application Operations Manager is a key role within the Data and Integrated Operations team. As a leader in database administration, you will oversee the stability, performance, and strategic evolution of enterprise database platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring the availability, integrity, and performance of critical enterprise database platforms across cloud and on-prem environments.
  2. Leading day-to-day operations of database services in alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and risk management frameworks.
  3. Overseeing database lifecycle management including provisioning, patching, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery.
  4. Contributing to data platform roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business growth, regulatory requirements, and technology innovation.
  5. Monitoring systems proactively, responding to incidents, and managing problems to minimize service disruptions.
  6. Identifying automation opportunities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  7. Overseeing team operations including financial management, compliance, and documentation.
  8. Managing backlog prioritization to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical dependencies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience leading database administration teams or data platform teams in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of relational and cloud-native database technologies (e.g. SQL Server).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence across technical and business domains.
  • Well-developed organisational skills for task prioritisation and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field (preferred), with ITIL, Agile or similar certifications.
  • Experience in financial services, particularly superannuation (desirable).
