Job Title: Data Platform Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Platform Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) APAC Data Platform team, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of our enterprise data platform.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping our data platform strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across the data ecosystem. You will also architect and lead the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using modern data stack technologies.

You will own the design and implementation of the data platform using tools such as Debezium, Kafka, Flink, Spark, and Data Lens. Additionally, you will collaborate with data architects, analysts, and engineers to deliver robust data solutions, champion automations using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines, and ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across all data systems.

As a mentor and guide, you will contribute to a culture of technical excellence by guiding junior engineers and evaluating emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and optimize enterprise data platforms
  • Shape data platform strategy and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Architect and lead development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and engineers to deliver robust data solutions
  • Champion automations using Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a data engineering related role for senior-level candidates
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in modern data platform engineering and hands-on experience with end-to-end data platform engineering design and implementation
  • Experience with automation across engineering and familiarity with modern data platform technology stack with open source tools preferred
