Research Opportunity in Food Systems Modelling

The Centre of Research Excellence in Healthy Food, Healthy Planet, Healthy People is a multi-disciplinary collaboration of 6 Universities and affiliated organisations. We are seeking a research candidate to contribute to the development of models that estimate the effects of changes in food systems and population diets on health outcomes, environmental outcomes, and economic outcomes.

As part of this project, you will work closely with a diverse team of academics and policy partners locally and globally. You will use cutting-edge methods and tools to develop predictive models that inform decision-making in the food industry and public health sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in epidemiology, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, environmental science, and/or nutrition science.
  • Develop and apply predictive modelling techniques to estimate the impacts of food system changes on health, environment, and economy.
  • Collaborate with researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to translate research findings into actionable insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Expertise in quantitative research methods, including statistical analysis and data visualisation.
  • Experience with programming languages such as R or Python, and proficiency in coding and data manipulation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
