Family Support Specialist Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Support Specialist to provide guidance and assistance to families, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and promoting family independence.

This role involves working alongside parents/caregivers to provide protection for the children while engaging with all the children in your care.

Depending on your driving eligibility status, you can be considered as driving or non-driving support specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to families and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children
  • Work alongside parents/caregivers to provide protection for the children
  • Engage with all the children in your care
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (or working towards) in Community Services, Child Care, Social Work, Mental Health or Disability OR equivalent experience
  • High levels of empathy and engagement and the ability to express both professionally
  • Familiarity with babies and children, their development, and their routines
  • Understanding of people with disabilities, particularly mental health and their care requirements
  • Current driver's license with a reliable vehicle, willing to use own vehicle to transport clients
  • Current car registration
  • Current car comprehensive insurance
