Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Planning and Resource Optimization Engineer to join our team in Perth. You will be responsible for developing medium to long-term mine plans and production schedules for our Worsley mining operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and sustainable development standards
  • Developing optimized mine plans and production schedules for Worsley's mining operation
  • Designing conceptual models for pits, roads, and mining-related infrastructure
  • Evaluating capital and operating cost requirements for mine plans
  • Maintaining effective interfaces between group planning, operational planning, and projects and studies teams
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in surface mining operations, with a focus on technical and operational expertise
  • Demonstrated experience across various mine planning functions, including optimization, mine design, production scheduling, capital infrastructure design, cost analysis, and forecasting
  • High-level competency in mine planning software applicable to surface mining operations
  • The ability to analyze complex problems and provide creative solutions
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to influence key stakeholders
  • Registration as a professional with an affiliated association, as required by JORC
About You

You should have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining) with at least 5 years of relevant mine planning experience. Additionally, you will possess a strong understanding of mine planning principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
