The Role
Seeking Aspiring Journalists for a Career in News CorrespondenceThis opportunity is perfect for those who aspire to be a news correspondent with the skills to work independently in audio, video and digital journalism.
Successful candidates will have a spirit of adventure and enjoy travelling to new places and meeting new people.
We are looking for two journalists with a minimum of two years' experience in a newsroom to cover the south-west Queensland region.
Journalists in this region deliver news for local and national audiences and have time to develop the skills needed to film and present video stories as well as producing digital stories.
Many successful journalists have cut their teeth in this part of the world.
The Job- Finding and telling compelling stories that reflect the unique character of western Queensland
- Preparing and producing audio, video, digital and social media stories for local and national audiences
- Building strong relationships with local community leaders and engaging stakeholders on behalf of the organisation
- Working independently and being self-motivated to chase stories and deliver content
- Demonstrating initiative and bringing creative ideas to your work
We offer a dynamic and challenging role that will provide you with the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.
As a journalist in this region, you will be based in Charleville and will be required to travel regularly throughout the area.
