About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Project Management and Governance to join our team at Alliance Airlines. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the design, setup, and ongoing management of our Project Management Office (PMO).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Governance Frameworks: Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks, systems, and processes to ensure successful program delivery and alignment with business objectives.
  2. Project Delivery and Risk Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the intended strategic outcomes. Identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to address potential issues.
  3. Process Improvement and Change Management: Drive process improvements, risk management, and benefits realization across the organization through effective project planning and execution.
  4. Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, coaching, and support to both internal and external project resources, fostering a high-performance culture.
  5. Vendor Management and Contract Development: Work closely with IT, procurement, and finance teams to develop and manage vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with project needs and organizational goals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Formal Qualifications in Project Management: A recognized qualification in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or PMBOK.
  2. Experience in Project Management: Significant experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  3. Leadership and Emotional Intelligence: Strong leadership and emotional intelligence, with the ability to foster organizational culture, engage teams, and align project goals with business objectives.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and MS Project, with an in-depth understanding of standardized PMO practices and their application within a large organization.
  5. Advanced Skills: Advanced skills in planning and scheduling complex projects, critical thinking, decision making, and stakeholder engagement at all levels, including executive management.
