Job Title: Visiting Medical Officer, Head of Department - Anaesthesia

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anaesthetist to lead our department in providing high-quality clinical services.

  • This is a 3 + 2-year term appointment with an attractive remuneration package.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient clinical services through leadership and management, coordinating medical staff for safe and effective service delivery, and overseeing departmental clinical governance.

  • Possess specialist registration (Anaesthesia) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency;
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) or equivalent specialist recognition;
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements;
  • Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesia demonstrated through successful clinical practice;
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills and ability working within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards;
  • Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research as required within the department;
