A Staff Specialist role in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Specialist to join our team in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide comprehensive gastroenterological services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
- To participate in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- To contribute to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff in line with contemporary best practice.
- To engage in research concepts as required within the Department.
Selection Criteria
- Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent as provided for in the Health Insurance Act 1997 and the Staff Specialists (NSW) Award; evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices relevant to the role.
- Sound clinical knowledge in gastroenterology with contemporary endoscopy skills; demonstrated through clinical practice and participation in quality assurance activities.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Demonstrates professional behavior and acts as a role model for junior medical staff.
- Sound clinical knowledge with a subspecialty in IBD or other subspecialty interest as evidenced by qualifications or post-Fellowship experience.
- Familiarity with research concepts and a commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research as required within the Department.
