About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive professional to join our team as a First Nations Heart Health Program Coordinator in South Australia.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving heart health outcomes for First Nations peoples, working closely with our team to develop and deliver culturally appropriate resources, education, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the delivery of the First Nations Heart Health Project in South Australia.
  • Foster strong connections and partnerships with First Nations communities to support better health outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver targeted communications strategies to promote First Nations resources and training.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to stakeholders, including the funding body.
  • Collaborate with internal functions and external stakeholders to integrate research and insights into programs and activities.
  • Represent the Heart Foundation at key events and meetings to contribute to policy, advocacy, and development activities.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in a health-related field or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience in community development or health-related fields, with a preference for lived experience.
  • Demonstrated program and project planning and management skills.
  • Understanding of issues, enablers, and barriers relating to First Nations health and experience working to address equity and promote self-determination.
  • Demonstrated cultural understanding and sensitivity, with experience working directly with First Nations communities.
  • Ability to travel to communities across South Australia and potentially interstate.
  • A consultative approach that promotes participation, cross-collaboration, partnership, and innovation.
