
Supply Chain Optimization Specialist

Job Role
The Category Manager plays a key role in driving commercial outcomes, optimising supply chain performance and supporting the delivery of high-quality services. With a focus on governance, sustainability and innovation, this role helps shape procurement practices aligned to operational goals and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage category strategies and plans aligned with business needs and market dynamics.
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities including planning, sourcing, evaluation, contract negotiation and award.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle including performance monitoring, compliance assurance and risk mitigation.
- Establish strong supplier relationships implementing supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Conduct comprehensive market and spend analysis to inform strategic decisions and optimise value.
- Create and manage dashboards reports and analytics models to support category performance tracking.
- Integrate ESG principles and total cost of ownership (TCO) thinking into procurement decisions.
- Facilitate realisation of intended business benefits through strategic sourcing and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies procedures and legislative requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A strong background in procurement category management and supplier relationship management is required.
- Proven ability to deliver commercial value cost optimisation and operational efficiencies through strategic procurement is necessary.
- Skilled in contract development negotiation and management is desired.
- Ability to analyse market trends and spend data to influence strategy and decision-making is essential.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with a collaborative solution-oriented mindset are required.
- Understanding of procurement governance frameworks risk management and regulatory compliance is necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Business Procurement Supply Chain Finance or a related discipline is required.
- MCIPS accreditation or equivalent is highly desirable.
- 5-10 years experience in procurement and category management with a track record of strategic leadership and results delivery is necessary.
