Child Health Professional

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Child Health Professional to join our team in Broome, WA. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering child health services to Aboriginal children aged 0–5 across Broome and surrounding communities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide scheduled developmental health checks and childhood immunisations
  2. Facilitate recalls, screenings, and follow-ups
  3. Provide case management for at-risk children and coordinate specialist referrals
  4. Promote uptake of the Kimberley Maternal & Child Health Protocols
  5. Deliver education, training, and mentoring to staff and community members
  6. SUPPORT women's groups, parenting, and mums & bubs programs
  7. Contribute to child health data collection, monitoring, and reporting
  8. Participate in planning forums and community awareness activities
  9. Travel to remote communities, including Beagle Bay and Bidyadanga, as required

About You:

  • You must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current AHPRA registration and hold a postgraduate qualification in Child Health.
  • Experience in Aboriginal health or remote settings is highly regarded, but we welcome applications from qualified RNs with a passion for transitioning into community-based child health.
  • You will need skills in community-based health promotion and health education, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and clinical databases, strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills.
  • A current WA Working with Children Clearance and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain) and a manual WA C Class Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain) and willingness to travel frequently by 4WD or light aircraft.
