
Developmental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Child Health Professional to join our team in Broome, WA. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering child health services to Aboriginal children aged 0–5 across Broome and surrounding communities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scheduled developmental health checks and childhood immunisations
- Facilitate recalls, screenings, and follow-ups
- Provide case management for at-risk children and coordinate specialist referrals
- Promote uptake of the Kimberley Maternal & Child Health Protocols
- Deliver education, training, and mentoring to staff and community members
- SUPPORT women's groups, parenting, and mums & bubs programs
- Contribute to child health data collection, monitoring, and reporting
- Participate in planning forums and community awareness activities
- Travel to remote communities, including Beagle Bay and Bidyadanga, as required
About You:
- You must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with current AHPRA registration and hold a postgraduate qualification in Child Health.
- Experience in Aboriginal health or remote settings is highly regarded, but we welcome applications from qualified RNs with a passion for transitioning into community-based child health.
- You will need skills in community-based health promotion and health education, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and clinical databases, strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural competency skills.
- A current WA Working with Children Clearance and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain) and a manual WA C Class Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain) and willingness to travel frequently by 4WD or light aircraft.
