Job Title: Data Protection Specialist

This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining a robust data protection framework for the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and mitigating data risks arising from business operations and initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of an effective data protection framework that ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations across the organisation.
  • Design, review, and maintain data protection policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and provide effective communication and training on requirements.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into data-related incidents to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform regular data risk assessments.
  • Oversee data practices to guarantee compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including monitoring and reporting on data-related incidents and risk assessments as required.
  • Present detailed reports on data compliance status, incidents, and risk assessments to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role in regulatory compliance or legal with experience in Australian financial services industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory obligations and ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to analyse complex matters and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Able to manage multiple deliverables under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
