Key Role in Subcontract Management

This role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of subcontractors that provide vital services and components to various programs. Working closely with Procurement, Engineering and Legal ensures complex subcontracted solutions are delivered on time and meet business standards.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all subcontract activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services and products. This includes administration and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and execute subcontracts in alignment with organisational policies and project requirements;
  • Monitor subcontract performance against KPIs and contractual obligations;
  • Establish relationships with key suppliers/vendors;
  • Address performance risks proactively and conduct risk assessments;
  • Work closely with project managers, legal and finance to ensure effective integration into overall project plans;
  • Lead negotiations, including terms, conditions, pricing and delivery schedules;
  • Provide regular status updates on subcontract performance and risks;
  • Develop and improve subcontracting processes for efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field;
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in subcontract management or procurement, preferably in Defence;
  • Demonstrated negotiation and vendor relationship management experience;
  • Strong understanding of subcontracting processes and contract law;
  • Ability to travel internationally and interstate when required;
  • Eligibility for Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
