We are seeking a skilled Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the chef in charge to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare mise en place for all relevant menus to ensure efficient food production.
- Ensure consistent great food production, in line with the high quality standards set by the Hotel.
- Assist with ordering necessary food items and maintain strict stock rotation to minimize wastage.
- Comply with all WHS, food safety legislation, and provide a courteous and professional service to guests.
- At least 1 year work experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
- Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery.
- Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills.
- Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods.
- Availability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
