Optical Fibre Network Specialist

This role involves the planning and execution of high-level telecommunications projects. As an Optical Fibre Network Specialist, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and estimating costs for network upgrades, extensions, and relocations.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, a strong background in telecommunications, and experience with GIS-based systems and Microsoft software.

  • Develop pre-sales designs and cost estimates for fibre connection requests and bids;
  • Monitor and manage network capacity to ensure seamless operations;
  • Plan and design optical fibre paths using multiple assets, including third-party leased assets and civil construction;
  • Provide plans and technical support to stakeholders;
  • Comply with safety protocols while designing and executing fibre network projects;
  • Manage fibre records across the national network;
  • Coordinate with workforce and contractors to execute allocated tasks;
  • Deliver services within specified contract timelines;
  • Assist in fault situations during core business hours;
  • Liaise with stakeholders to extend the fibre network;
  • Support the integration of new technologies onto the fibre network;
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes;
